"Engineer, Inventor, Entrepreneur and Genius"- Yes, Bill Lear was the Iron Man of his time. A self-taught radio engineer and an inventor, he received over 120 patents throughout his life. Starting in his 30s, he started work on radio direction finders and other avionics related products. He is famously credited for developing the world’s first Fully Automatic Aircraft Landing System.
